BRAND IDENTITY, GAME/WEB DESIGN

Grand Theft Auto VI: Tokyo Drift

Created new video game assets for Rockstar Games

Overview

Apart of my 17 day design challenge, I was tasked to create a banner for Rockstar Games. Known for their infamous GTA and GTA 5, I developed branding for an unreleased VI version. This newest GTA is set in a sprawling, neon-lit metropolis inspired by Japan, and merges the high-speed thrills of Tokyo Drift with the cyberpunk aesthetics of Blade Runner. This vibrant cityscape is a pulsating hub of advanced technology and ancient tradition, where sleek, customizable cars zip through rain-soaked streets under the glow of holographic billboards. Players can navigate a dense urban labyrinth filled with hidden alleyways, bustling markets, and towering skyscrapers, engaging in high-stakes races and intense combat missions.

Approach

Approaching this project, I drew inspiration from the previous games and their detailed/realistic animations. Working with AI to produce images inspired by Blade Runner and Fast and Furious, I developed new assets following similar layouts to that of Rockstar's previous versions. My theme/narrative weaves elements of futuristic intrigue and underworld drama, immersing players in a dynamic environment where the line between reality and the digital world blurs, creating an unparalleled, adrenaline-fueled experience.
